Is it really five years since we had this Classic band at the club? We don’t get much in the way of classic jazz so this style of part arranged, part improvised music should give us a rare pleasure. On the front line together with Mike Lovell on trombone will be Phil Lucas on trumpet and that soulful instrument, the flugelhorn and Willy Entwhistle of Temperance Seven fame on reeds. Chris Howse, besides playing banjo and guitar will give us some unusual vocals, Colin Turner as well as providing the bass line on tuba will also be playing bass sax and John Smith will complete the rhythm section on percussion. An evening of back to the 20s and 30s music is in store.
