Eagle Jazz Band

The original Eagle Jazz Band was formed in 1951 and continued to delight audiences worldwide for an amazing fifty-four years, one of the longest formed bands in the UK. In 2005 The band renamed itself “The Millennium Eagle Jazz Band” after the death of the only remaining founder-member Tony Hobson, In 2015 the band decided to revert to the original name.


The current line-up consists of Terry Williams (trombone & vocals), Tim Jones (drums) along with stalwart Pete Brown (trumpet and valve trombone). Matt Palmer (clarinet & saxes)
joined in 2004 and assumed leadership when the band became the Millennium Eagle Jazz Band. The band reverted to its original name in 2015. The band are delighted to welcome back Brian Mellor (banjo, guitar & vocals) after a long absence due to illness, on a sadder note, long-term bassist Brian Lawrence sadly died earlier this year, David Deakin will be playing bass and sousaphone on this gig.
