To brighten up the dull dark winter evenings we are presenting a 1920s style party recreating the ambience of a Chicago speakeasy as frequented by such characters as Al Capone during the prohibition era.
Matt Palmer introduces a brand-new lineup to provide the music for this event which consists of Dave Leithead (trumpet & vocals), Jo Nutman (piano), Al Harris (bass) and Nick Ward (drums) who collaborate to celebrate their mutual passion for the music of the 1920’s and 1930’s and their desire to share this with partygoers and music-lovers alike.
This era was known as the “Jazz Age” when there was such a rich heritage of great compositions known as “The Great American Song Book” which provided a musical backdrop to much frivolity and partying. The Gatsby Go-Getters recreate these golden sounds to evoke the good times of an earlier era.
